Maximizing Your Readership

So, you've posted your finely crafted article to Tremr. Now you want the world to see it!

Firstly, make sure that the content and layout is as good as it can be. If you haven't read our How to Get Noticed on Tremr article yet, go do that now...
Ok, so now your post is in tip-top shape what are some other ways to find more readers and encourage engagement? Here are our top tips:
1. Share on Social Networks
The best method of driving traffic to your content is sharing it on social media. Every post on Tremr has its own social share buttons.
Facebook
It's statistically almost certain that you're a Facebook member, so make the most of it! Of course, no one wants to be seen to be 'spamming' their friends. But as long as you're not posting Tremr links 24/7 and your content is of genuine interest to your friends, they'll thank you for it. Encourage your friends to 'like' your posts on Facebook if they find them interesting. The more likes your posts get, the more people Facebook will show them to.
Twitter
As well as being seen by your followers, you should use appropriate #hashtags and @mentions to put your Tremr writing in front of people interested in the topics mentioned in your article.
When choosing which hashtag(s) to add to your Tweet, make sure that they're relevant to your content and also an existing tag on Twitter. For example to find the best hashtag to use for a post on the 2020 election, go to Twitter and start typing 'election' in the search box. As you type, Twitter will suggest popular hashtags. In this case '#Election2020' may come up as a suggestion, so that would be a good choice.
Sometimes it's appropriate to include a @mention in your tweet. If you write a (good!) review of a band, writer, movie etc, you should include a mention of their Twitter handle in your Tweet. They will be alerted that they got mentioned and they may like or retweet your link. If they have a large following, this can be a very powerful way to get more readers.
Reddit
Reddit is not as big as Facebook or Twitter, but we've seen first hand that it can often be a better source of readers than either of the big boys.
Reddit is divided into a huge number of 'subreddits' covering every topic under the sun. When posting links to your articles to Reddit please make sure you post in an appropriate subreddit and read the subreddit rules first. Ignoring this will mean less traffic to your post and your Reddit account may be penalized for spam.
Also likely to get you into trouble on Reddit is posting solely links to Tremr articles, so please post a variety of content, and be a good social citizen!
Other Social Networks
Of course, there are many other social networks than the three we've mentioned (including Instagram and LinkedIn) and most of these are also good places to share links to your Tremr posts.
2. Contribute to Comment and Discussion Forums
There are thousands of discussion forums on the web, covering every topic and subtopic you can think of. So no matter what topic your post is on, there'll be a conversation somewhere online that's relevant.
Also, lots of blogs, newspaper websites etc, have comment sections beneath their articles. If there is a discussion relating to one of your Tremr posts then it's legitimate to include a link to your post as part of your comment. As ever, please do not do this in a spammy way. Your link should be relevant to the discussion and part of a genuine engagement with the forum in question.
Remember also that YouTube has a comments section beneath each video.
3. Don't Forget Email
It's easy to think of email as somehow 'old fashioned' and clunky compared to social networks. However, it's still a very powerful tool for promoting yourself and your content.
The most obvious way is to email links to your Tremr posts to friends and family. These can be links to specific articles or a link directly to your Tremr profile page, so they can browse all of your content. Simply copy the URL of your profile page and share away.
A simple and powerful tip is to include this same profile page URL as a signature at the bottom of all your emails. If you're using Gmail click here for instructions on setting up an email signature: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/8395?hl=en
